Current Projects:
Trainee projects in the Poirier lab will be on understanding the influence of chromatin structure and dynamics on DNA processing, such as RNA transcription and DNA repair. Each trainee will apply a combination of biochemical and biophysical experimental methods that include single molecule force and twist measurements, single molecule fluorescence measurements and ensemble biophysical measurements such as fluorescence resonance energy transfer and electron paramagnetic resonance.
